Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy covers the VoiceBox AAC app for iPhone and iPad, made by Code Nursery (“we”, “us”). It explains what information the app handles, how, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Nothing. VoiceBox AAC does not collect, send or share any information about you or the person using it. The sentences built in the app, the words added to it and its settings stay on the device, and we never see them.
The app has no account or sign-in, and never asks for a name, email address or any other personal details. It contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking, and it does not need an internet connection to work.
What stays on the device, and why
To work, the app keeps a few things on the device itself. They are created only by using the app:
- recent and favourite sentences, so they can be said again;
- a count of which word tends to follow which, for the optional Frequent Words row;
- added words, groups, Hotbar phrases and settings, so the app stays set up for one person.
These are used only to run those features. They are never sent to us or anyone else, and we will not use them for anything else.
Speech is made by the voices built into iOS and iPadOS, on the device. The text is not sent to us or to any online speech or AI service.
Permissions
VoiceBox AAC does not ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data or any other protected information on the device. Every feature works without granting any permission.
Who it is shared with
No one. We do not sell, rent or share information, and the app includes no third-party code that collects data, such as analytics, advertising or AI services. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
If that ever changed, we would update this policy first, ask for your permission in the app before anything was shared, and only work with a provider that protects the information at least as well as this policy does.
How long it is kept
Information in the app stays on the device until you delete it, or until the app is deleted. We hold no copy, so there is nothing to keep on our side.
If the device is backed up to iCloud or to a computer, this information is included in the backup like any other app’s. That backup is handled by Apple under Apple’s terms, and we cannot see it.
Deleting your information
- Delete a sentence: open the sentence list (the heart button) and swipe left on it.
- Clear the Frequent Words suggestions: Settings › Display › Forget Learned Words.
- Remove an added word: Settings › Custom Dictionary.
- Delete everything: delete the app from the device.
As the app collects nothing, there is no consent to withdraw and nothing for us to delete or send you. If you have a question about your information, or want to use your rights under data protection law (such as the UK GDPR), contact us and we will reply within one month.
Children
VoiceBox AAC may be used by children, often with help from a parent, carer or therapist. It collects no information from anyone, including children, and has no third-party analytics or advertising.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. We will not start collecting information, or use it in a new way, without asking for your permission in the app first.
